What is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)?

At People First Education, we examine the features of ADHD and base our training around them. In general terms there are two types of ADHD with core features as follows:

Inattentive ADHD:Difficulty concentrating, problems staying on task, lack of organisation skills, poor memory

Hyperactive impulsive ADHD:Impulsive behaviour, overactivity, tendency to be noisy

In addition to the above features, the following may be present in either type:

Lack of consistency in tasks, low self esteem, poor working memory, motivation issues, social clumsiness, clumsiness, defiance, rigidity of thought, sleep problems

On a People First Education ADHD training course participants are empowered to refer the Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorders of the children in their care and build their strategies around them.
